The League is structured similarly to the European National League, meaning that each league has feeder leagues, depending on player participation levels within the community.
This is sometimes referred to as the 'pyramid', with a nationwide first division at the top. Below that, as the pyramid widens, is where things differ.
Focusing on the top tier, the most common format consists of each team playing the other twice โ once at home and once away it's three points for a win, one for a draw, and the team with the most points after all the games is the champion.
When it comes to teams tied for points, leagues define criteria to determine who is ahead. The first of those is often who has the higher goal difference over the course of the season, followed by goals scored and so on. Some leagues, however, use the head-to-head record between rival teams as the first criteria after points, including away goals, before continuing with other season-spanning statistics.
The Galatico League is a professional series of tournaments which run for a specific time period and culminate in the Galactico Cup final, which features the winners of each regional league from community of players. The tournament is modeled after European football's domestic leagues In each community, a team plays all of its rivals twice in their home stadium and once away. The highest-placed finisher in each community wins its corresponding national championship title.Upon registration of all participants, the system will generate a league table and schedule for players to compete in.
The system consists of a pyramid of leagues, bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. A certain number of the most successful clubs in each league can rise to a higher league, whilst those that finish the season at the bottom of their league can find themselves sinking down a level. In addition to sporting performance, promotion is usually contingent on meeting criteria set by the higher league, especially concerning appropriate facilities and finances.
Leagues in higher divisions will tend to have greater prize pools. These prize pools are derived from the actions occurring within the league and sponsorship revenue for that league. Clubs need to pay a membership fee to enter into high end leagues. which will provide a lot more returns.
