Introduction

The academy is how new talent enters the game. All the players enter the game aged 18. The players need to be signed to the club through minting them into an NFT by the age of 21 otherwise they are free to join other clubs.

That said, your academy players who are not yet free agents can still play for your first-team squad without the requirement of minting them.

Talent Pipeline

The academy will likely be your key channel for bringing players into your first-team squad.

Within each cohort there will be a varied distribution of quality. This distribution will depend on the club's division and how much work has been put into improving the academy's quality.

You will be able to develop your own academy in order to bring the best young players into your first team. Discovering and developing new talent is key for any football manager, and with 10 new players coming through every season it's important that you make the most of them.

Player Signing

Whilst these players live in the academy, they don't live on chain. When a club owner wants to sign a player on a contract, they mint them as an NFT. When signing a player from their academy the club will incur a small minting fee. This fee will go toward funding prize pools for tournaments and the treasury.

Infrastructure Investments

You should invest in infrastructures by building training fields, gyms, and facilities. You should also invest in a good coach for training, so that you can improve players performance. As a result of these activities, you will have a higher chance to win more matches and win championships.

Coaching and Specialization

Initially, the kind of players that your academy develops will be random. You may have many players specializing in defense, with a corresponding deficit of attacking players.

Fixing this imbalance in the short term may require active trading, but you can also choose to focus on your academy developing the kind of talent that your team needs.

Bringing specialist coaches into the academy can encourage the development of the kinds of players that are most valuable to your team, as well as increase the quality of those players.
